Time flies in our restoration project

History was made on Wednesday 20th January, as 3 brand new clock faces, (which are identical copies of the original faces) were craned into position.

The original clock faces, having suffered 140 years of weathering, had completely worn out and needed replacing before they crumbled to pieces.

Potts Clocks (who have maintained our clock since 1880!) have been commissioned to carry out this work through the principal contractor 'Stone Edge'.

Sadly, due to CoronaVirus, we were unable to invite a large audience to attend the lifting ceremony. The picture shows Cllr. Ryk Downes and Jamie Hudson.
